Alright it’s ANOTHER new group of kids doing the thrash metal thing. The joy of this album is where they’re drawing the influences from – the early works of Anthrax, proper (re: early) Metallica & mid-period Destruction & the like. Despite a mass of originality, M.R.’s riffs have a bite to them and the drumming and vocals go over well through the album. Overall, good stuff that only suffers with the excess number of tracks. (None which are terrible just samey at times).
(((((1))))) Killer “’Maiden on speed” mixed with high-flying, melodic thrash ‘ala early Anthrax. Includes a “Go!” so ya gotta love that.
(((2))) Tight, basic thrash riffing, nearly outta breath vocals.
(((((3))))) (FCC “fucking” sung once) Holy sheep sheet! Is this off of “Among The Living” Part 2? Total 80’s thrash emulation to near perfection!
((((4)))) Traditional 80’s metal & thrash mix, taking the aggression of Sweet Savage & “Kill ‘Em All” Metallica. Someone else’s riffs probably but here they’re played all “jag-jag-jud-jud” not “Jud-jud-jag-jag-jag-rrr”. Got it?
(((((5)))))) Bassy, charged and now it’s a bit of S.O.D./Crumbsuckers style crossover. Rad!
((((6)))) Good opening riff, steady mid-paced Bay Area styled thrash. Goes a little too long, tho.
(((((7))))) ALLL-RIGHT! Fast, sharp thrash metal. ‘Nuff said!
(((8))) A little stiff but OK, basic thrash
(((((9))))) Did someone say “Crunch riff”? or was that “Anthrax + Kreator = awesome”? Really good drumming, vocals and riffs.
(((10))) Squirrelly solos (sorta like the advanced levels of “Millipede”), then mid-paced traditional metal/thrash. Decent but a tad sloppy.
((((11)))) More traditional metal with a ton of NWOBHM/”Kill ‘Em All” retreads, so much so you’re almost singing “Scanning the scene in the city tonight…” Hey, least it’s not fuggin’ Trivium.
