Irish-American fiddler Caroll & Irish guitarist Doyle team up for some solidly lively Celtic music. Doyle adds vocals on a few tracks plus plays mandolin and bouzouki. Both are expert musicians and they bring a fresh, contemporary take to traditionally-based music. Every track is worth a star. This is wonderful modern Celtic music. 1. Fast & energetic set of two dances, trad w/a modern kick. 2. Two jigs, the first w/a nice drama, the second happy & light. 3. Doyle sings on upbeat story song of a strike. So cool! 4. Sweet lament followed by two upbeat reels. 5. Beautiful song of nostalgia w/a large dose of sadness. Sigh… 6. Two mid/upbeat dances, one about Bolinas, CA. 7. Two sweet ballads w/a warm, old-fashioned air. 8. Upbeat set of total toe-tappers. Yee haw! 9. A strong & catchy jig set with lots of energy. 10. Midtempo vocal lament followed by a jig. 11. Slow at first, picks up two mid/upbeat dances. 12. Three folk dances, mid/upbeat w/sweet melodies. 13. Upbeat set of three, reels w/a modern energy & sound. | ||
