I’m not sure if this qualifies as ‘singer-songwriter’ because none of the compositions include percussion (except 9), but definitely vocals/electric guitar-oriented. Oh yeah, Croatian (or some other language I can’t identify) male vocals. Guitars and music may be close to early–to–mid-period Jason Molina, but definitely not as sad. I see online that he likes to identify his music as “lyrical blues” or something, but like aforementioned, it sounds like a less dramatic, stripped-down Molina.
1. Panning organs, rhythmic, repetitive electric guitar, no percussion, kind of playful, warm. (2:09)
2. Low piano, bluesy guitar effect, more wandering, slow, drifty. (2:51)
*3. Upright bass, big warm accordion, sweet song. (2:33)
4. James Bond opening credits anthem if the Bond movie was overdubbed in Croatian. (2:17)
5. Vocals a little less structured, some crooning. (2:39)
6. Upbeat, walking bass, horns come in, but not in an epic, joyful pop way. (2:42)
*7. Light synth pad (almost undetectable) in the background, and some strings come in with a pretty, simplistic electric arpeggio. (4:13)
*8. Reverbing, effects-dripping keys, spaced out, another guitar is layered in, and the track suddenly is striking. (2:40)
9. Full band here with drums, distorted electric guitar, comes a little too close to a bad 80s sound for me, impassioned vocals.
