Under The Gun

Strange but sometimes funny punk/hardcore with a sort of concept record about crazy things in their neighborhood i.e. cat ladies, pack rats, drug pigs, and so. Sounds like they would be fun to see live as album it works most of the way but it’s always “on” the album. Like a long rehershal jam with the songs almost finished, emphasis on “almost”.

(((1))) Starts with twangy guitar and multiple story tellers. Later becomes loose, fast and silly hardcore.
((((2)))) Fast hardcore with multiple vocalists. Very stripped down but fun.
((((3)))) (FCC “fucker” sung once) Rockin’ hardcore that conjures up the riff to MDC’s “John Wayne Was A Nazi” a few times.
((((4))) (FCC “Fucking” sung once) 30 sec of the band quietly talking then fast, raw and basic hardcore with snarling vocals. (The main vocalist sings like Rowdy Roddy Piper. Hmmm).
((5)) (FCC “fuck” sung once) Story telling intro, bad Red Hot Chilli Peppers-like part then lame “novelty rock & hardcore” thingy and later actual hardcore. Confusing.
(((6))) (FCC “Fucking” sung once). Pretty good but very basic hardcore/punk with a few diversions like Victim’s Family.
((7)) Clunky hardcore with sort of video game type lyrics.
((((8)))) Fast & rockin’ hardcore close to early power-violence. They need more songs like this.
(((9))) TOO MANY FCCs AVOID!
