Bat For Lashes = British singer-songwriter Natasha Khan. A number of introspective and chill tunes with nice, airy vocals. Some have compared her voice to every one from Bjork to even Johanna Newsome but it’s nothing like any of them. Sounds vocally more like Jesse Sykes or sometimes Kate Bush. Overall, quite good with a few, moments of not-so good (read cheesy pop). Scott Walker makes a cameo on the last track.

((((1)))) Floaty poppy & melancholic then become very vocal focused with sparse beats, effects, glistening guitar and moody bass.
((2)) Jangly guitar with Kate Bush-like vocals i.e. kinda half-assed and over emotive in the chorus.
((3)) Piano centered, ballad not far from Tori Amos. With a distant, mechanical response voice effect. Drags on way too long.
((4))) Airy modern electronic based pop with synth poppy beat and reverby vocals. Repetitive chorus.
Sort of like M83 crossed with Black Box Recorder.
((((5)))) Strummy slightly psych folk feel. Good vocal performance.
((((6)))) Pretty & nice, minimal piano & electronics based ballad that goes into a decent but almost Broadway show like build up that tells the story of her alter ego, Pearl.
(((7))) Modern, mid-paced, dancey beat, good vocals but the chorus is super-cheesy.
(((((8))))) Slow, breathy vocals, tambourine and cascading piano notes. Top tune!
(((9))) Industrial beat with a layer of pop warmth and handclaps. Vocally it’s an acquired taste but often consistent.
(((((10))))) Nice piano focused ballad that’s very similar to Jesse Sykes, especially in the chorus.
(((((11)))))) Weird, somber ballad with Scott Walker dueting. Feels like a tune from the “City of Lost Children” movie
