Local folk act with willfully eccentric lyrics that borders on novelty. The music here is mostly just three chords on an acoustic guitar with a rough, flat, but somewhat earnest voice. Very lyric-centric; like what Jeff Mangum’s demos would sound like in an alternate universe if he didn’t have something important to write about. Compositions for the most part seem like incomplete ideas, and combined with the “I’m more clever than thou” lyrics makes me think he doesn’t really take this too seriously. Watch the FCCs.

1. 2 clear FCCs, kind of clever lyrics, sort of upbeat. (1:35)
2. Slower, soothing (1:18)
*3. About being a processed cheese being cooked and served for dinner with macaroni? Probably cuts out 10 seconds early. (1:09)
4. Light waltzy percussion, folk, not that great. (1:59)
5. Snapping, harmonica, and voice. Very simplistic. (0:53)
6. More upbeat, a bit repetitive, insistent. (1:08)
7. 3 clear FCC’s, self-loathing vulgar strum. (0:42)
*8. Maybe the most representative track, self-deprecating, absurdist, warm, upbeat acoustic. (1:07)
9. FCC (0:20)
10. Multiple clear FCCs sing-spoken. (1:07)
11. More of a song structure, a little happier; like a NMH demo. (2:24)
*12. Memorable lyric passage, kind of sweet in a twisted way. (1:55)
13. Repetitive and boring; I guess the short songs do work to his favor because this one is long and doesn’t go anywhere. (3:54)
14. Slow waltz, sad, kind of in the folk-country tradition. (1:33)
15. Something about this reminded me of Jack Johnson. (0:54)
16. More strange lyrics, mid-tempo acoustic strum. (1:29)
17. Goes through a questionable spoken verse, fail. FCC (2:42)
*18. Drum machine, minor key, picks up in intensity, relatively ‘normal’. (2:36)
19. More traditional sound here, 60s Dylan. (1:38)
