This 2-time Grammy-nominated Miami-based Cuban band combines Bach with Afro-Cuban music for a unique, ambitious release that is refreshingly successful. The musicianship is first rate throughout with hot horns, sassy and sophisticated piano, sharp yet subtle percussion. You’ll recognize the Bach source for each, but the arrangements and playing turn it on its head & makes it so different.

1. Hip & brassy conga w/layers of perc, brass & vocals.
*2. Sexy, jazzy cha-cha-cha w/fabulous piano. So good.
*3. Soft and romantic bolero for piano, sax, perc. Sigh…
*4. Delicious, upbeat w/tight arrangement. Wonderfully lush.
*5. Sweet, syncopated wiggle w/great keys, perc, brass.
*6. Solo African shekere. Starts slow, then picks up w/vocals.
7. Piano & perc square off. The minuet was never like this. Mid/up
8. Sweet & reflective at first then brassy w/vocals & energy.
9. A romantic dance that gets bright & playful and then goes back.
*10. Upbeat timba w/fire and energy. Great work from all.
*11. Slow, pious choral mass leads into warm & stylish Cuban jazz.
