Piano, viola, violin. Good “café” music, like the title says, and can spice up “general” (and “world”) shows despite the “classical” classification. Latin sound, helps that at least half of this is tango music. All tracks good! Lively.

1-4 are one piece, and 1-5 are all by Astor Piazzolla- expect tango, staccato sections mixed with languid melodies.
1. Scratchy extended technique opens the track. Smokey. Calm/sad interleaves with faster controlled anger.
2.Pretty intro, speeds up a bit. Bright “fast dance” interludes with wistful songlike sections all around.
3.mid-fast tango, fun
4.Plaintive, hurt, angry
5.Scratchy technique joined to a sweet meandering melody. Actually, the mood changes over the course of this long-ish (yet always entertaining) piece. Good interplay with the piano.
6.Sounds like a 1920’s hit parade dance tune. Fun, lyrical. They update it a bit in portions, they get creative in the interpretation for a couple bars here and there.
7.minor key piano intro, gentler than earlier songs on this disc. Slow tempo, relaxing music.
8.Loud lively fast
9.Calm, then sunny
10. Fast quiet intro, some loud dynamics, more languid 2nd half
11. dramatic intro, lullaby interlude, loud piano again. Melodic & minor key
12.syncopated? bluesy. Builds.
