Gentle pop-folk songs from the American Northwest. All the wonderful grunginess of corduroy pants, rainy damp forests and No Shave November have been condensed into this solid release by one of the best emerging folk bands in the union. They are like a more masculine version of Fleet Foxes. Lots of plucky acoustic guitarwork, layered percussion, and great emotional vocals. Lots of gems here.

1. Strummy sweet acoustic chords with plucky accents and husky vocals. Slow drumbeats and gentle female backup vocals. Sounds nice, but is slightly repetitive.
2. Slow progressing song with galloping drumbeats and exciting harmonica crescendos.
3. Aggressive, electric-folk song with raw drums and powerful guitar leads.
4. Gorgeous minimalist guitarwork and bongo drums with smooth vocals.
5. A dreamy, shimmering ballad with gentle click-clack percussion and powerful emotional vocals.
6. Three percussion instruments blended with clear ringing semi-acoustic guitar and husky vocals.
7. Blissful multi-layered song with excellent interplay between vocals and lead guitar. A real stand-out.
8. Upbeat jangly song with a “roadtrip” sort of feel. Minimal guitar accents.
9. Very slow song with rusty vocals. Not much interesting here.
10. Sad lo-fi melancholy with naked vulnerable vocals. Very realistic anguish.
