Good effort from the frontmen of two group: Gamelight's guitarist and vocalist Joshua Manis (You Just Don't), and The Return's guitarist and vocalist Derek Jennings (The Ashtray Life). The CD is two separate solo efforts with both Manis and Jennings each contributing five songs - Manis the first half, and Jennings the second. Largely guitar-driven tracks have a nostalgic feel. Manis relies on guitar and extra vocals of Becca Stone to drive melodies. Jennings focuses on the combination of guitar and drums to drive rhythms. Both artists seem to be reaching into their childhoods for inspiration. These tracks seem to be the songs they have waited years to sing. No FCC violation detected. See 2, 5, 9.

1. folk banjo sound. 2. moodier sound, chords go in and out of harmony in the beginning, but they work - lyrics begin 1 minute into the song. 3. mid-tempo sound, folksy, sounds like more than one man singing, but it's just the one. 4. a girl talking opens the sound for the first 10 seconds - low-key sound. 5. nice track, good lyrics, good melody, relaxed tempo. 6. the opening made me think of the Beetles and the rest, Roy Orbison. 7. regular folk sound with Hawaiian riffs. 8. mid-tempo regular folk song. 9. folk sound, vocals dominate music, nice sound. 10. Again, a folk sounding piece you'd hear at a campsite.
