Modern jazz quartet with piano and trumpet. It's got that jazzy sheen to it but is prone to adventurous twists and complex writing. Tracks like 1,3,8 change gears abruptly and/or seem designed to mess with your head, while 4 and 6 show off some complicated writing drawing from jazz and classical wells.

Greg Felton - piano
Sean Carpio - drums
Jacob Wick - trumpet

1- Snappy and upbeat, in unusual time. Crisp trumpet and a jabbing theme. Brisk intensity. Later, it splits off into a quiet, abstract piano flow.
2- Perky mid/fast jazzy flow. Theme written in long, bouncy lines; a really nice listen.
3- Midtempo flow, with some long stacatto pauses as the band messes with us.
4- Fast patter. Really confusing theme. I love it!
5- Slow and lyrical, with drama
6- Perky overlapping lines, scurrying. Then, a classically-influenced piano solo.
7- A quiet repetitive pulsing behind slow piano chords and some interesting drumming. Low-key. Very slow/quiet start.
8- A touch of chamber seriousness, but still a strong mid/fast jazzy feel
9- Pensive, slow. Unaccompanied trumpet intro. Develops slowly after that.
