Unlike many at KZSU, I am a huge Strokes fan. If you enjoyed Albert Hammond Jr.’s solo records and are expecting anything approaching those, or a Strokes album for that matter, put this down and walk away, forever.

That being said: Classic synth-pop melodies over slick, high-gloss production. Bouncy, upbeat, heavy on the synth and drum machine. RIYL: Wham!, Culture Club, late Weezer.

01.Sunny pop w/ a Thin Lizzy guitar line (4:43)
02. Slow intro, picks up to a bouncy pop tune midway. Fake fade-out. (4:59)
03.** The single. Actually sort of catchy, after multiple listens. (4:06)
04. Slow ballad. (5:03)
05. Funeral dirge for the old LES. (5:45)
06. Spooky modal synth bass. Lots of “studio magic.” (5:13)
07.** Slower tune; built around catchy whistle intro. CA beach pop. (5:25)
08. Slow indie ballad w/ a slightly funky beat. (5:03)
