Cool electro, accomplished F vocals (English & French), European, restrained-sexy, dark. Voice carries the melody, harsh synths create a beat & accents. Most tracks good, and with the variety of “feels” am not going to singe any out. Not much variation within any track though. If I heard this when I was in college I’d be playing the heck out of it, alongside a ton of moody 80’s 4ad stuff.
.Mysterious, slow, dirgey, no drums. “Change your life”
.harsh basic beat, buzzy synths. Could be a goth club hit.
.Upbeat with edge cabaret song
.Minimal, mid-slow, nearly only vocals & loud “bomp bomp” beat. (No, not the Pretenders song, it’s heteronymous.)
.Mid-tempo, tribal beat, Death Guild mating call
.instrumental interlude- cooing birds & indigestion
.mid-fast, poppier then rest of album. Simple electroclash.
.manic. could be a lost new-wave track from 1980
.mid-slow emo robot plainsong
.Loopy, dreamy instrumental interlude, gets a beat in 2nd half
.md-slow plaintive, resigned. Kinda annoying.
.Mid fast, good treatment of Robert Rental’s breakout hit.
.Quieter, more melodic- beat quieter in mix, synth used for harmonic accompaniment, and voice overdubbed with itself.
.Bluesy/folk acapella intro, then shambling beat, sampled acoustic base loop, more synth layer & build. Ends a-capella w/wind sounds. “Lost my job… I’d like to have a Smith & Wesson, so my finger can teach you a lesson”- you could consider this very-‘alt’ country!
