Unpretentious mainstream and New Orleans jazz from a local artist. Combining a hint of funk with it all. Tight arrangements, with especially good horn work. Hardly surprising, since Rinta is a trombonist.
1. Jaunty midtempo walk that leaves NO for NYC.
2. Relaxed mainstream groove w/a lightly funky touch.
*3. Playfully upbeat jam w/a sweet taste of gumbo.
4. Midtempo stride, nicely sharp. Bluesy too.
*5. Old timey stroll w/the languid touch of a hot day in the city.
6. Sharp brass and tight percussion in a midtempo strut.
7. Only 14 seconds…a bit of studio improv.
*8. Upbeat march w/cool boogie-woogie piano. Fun.
9. Relaxed Crescent City march that gets into a hot jam.
*10. Cool Hammond accents in a way hip mid/up groove.
*11. Serious strut w/great work from all, especially on piano.
