80’s Disco-Kitsch - After it makes you want to put on a leotard and dance to its drum-machine beats and synthesized melodies, this album is guaranteed to become a secret pleasure. Husband and wife team La Chansons act like they intend irony in their over-the-top CD presentation, but you quickly realize that these songs are dead serious in their faith to the 80’s disco-pop scene. Think Chromeo with female vocals. All songs same mid tempo. No FCC’s.
My picks: 1, 2, 8

1) *(4:27) Unrelenting heavy synth hook with soaring female vocals.
2) *(4:16) Poppy love song remake with liberal use of the clap machine.
3) (3:50) Electric guitar and kick drum applies some 80’s soft-rock feel to the disco melody.
4) (3:45) The story of a roller-skating pair’s success set to a beat machine’s tempo.
5) (3:17) Sassy spoken verses where Carson Keller (female vocalist) describes her personal quest towards beauty queen-dom.
6) (3:14) The synthesizer gets its solo lead-in during this tribute to the disco floor DJ.
7) (3:23) Would have fit right in booming from the headphones of beach cruisers on skates in the 80’s beach scene.
8) *(3:13) Hilarious homage to the leotard with the expected inane chorus to match.
9) (2:25) Only song with the husband singing, too, though fairly quiet and subdued.
10) (3:17) Vocals much in the vein of Real McCoy, or Madonna: slightly synthed, very feminine
