Retro indie rock. Kinda Wilco-Eelsy on the rockier tracks, serious glam (like T Rex glam) on the others. Twangy / classic rock a la, gee, The Band? The Beach Boys? The Kinks? I hate to invoke the Beatles, but, wow. Even the glam stuff sounds like the Beatles. Multiple (male) singers, lots of well-executed pop harmonies. Saloon piano all over the place.

When they're not performing under the Zeus name, these guys all play in the backing band for Jason Collett (of Broken Social Scene). Man, Arts & Crafts kicks ass.

*1. quick-hit saloon piano verse, lilty chorus. yeah, check out that "sounds of silence" chord progression. nice pick-up/breakdown complete with walking bass.
2. not quite a sea shanty. airy vocals and deep rock-a-bye piano bass. glam falsetto at times.
3. grainy garage rock... sort of. on the honky tonk side.
4. downtempo, beachy. hella white stripes! "ooh ooh ooh" breakdown.
5. short (1:00) slow beatlesy twangy echoey sprawler. heavy on the sustain. CROSSFADE or play with next track.
6. cutesy head-tocky just-chillin'-on-my-canoe beat. gets... bigger... as it goes on.
*7. rough, grainy guitar + pushy descending keys. blow-out gritty brit punk vocals.
8. echoey space-out blips. easy, downtempo, giddy-up drums.
9. loud, upfront, rocky, complex. lots of drums, piano. feels a bit blown all at once. oh, hrm.
*10. folky melodic melancholy (see: track 1, see: simon & garfunkel). great bass/acoustic interplay. tambourine. gets into a nice groove.
11. twinkle piano, then harder/crashier chords w/clear singing classic rock electric.
12. stripped-down piano to start, builds. airy glam vocals. ends on an "ooh" vamp.
