Oh my god it's... emo electronica! Cute indie space rock in the fine tradition of Grandaddy or the Postal Service. Well, more on top of it than the Postal Service -- much tighter (aggressive?) sound. Massive skippy syncopated drum machine and bellsy melodies and impeccably controlled male emo vocals. The lyrics are ridiculous, but hey, it's pretty pretty. Think Futures-era Jimmy Eat World dubbed over reject instrumentals from the Dune soundtrack.
try: 4, 1, 3

*1. starts w/space noise. lots of depeche modey hollow/deep reverb bass (think: 'halo') paired with high vocals. nice tempo/atmosphere changeups. "we're hoping to find new order in your joy division"? dream on, guys.
2. upbeat, slightly dancey space rocker. doubled high-as-a-kite vocal/keys melody. spastic drum machine. seriously, did this drop RIGHT off the "give up" LP? false ending! and then an abrupt ending. crossfade final 2-3 seconds.
*3. slow & pretty. a builder. impressively engrossing male/female harmonies. understated, backing 'ooh's. midway, random sound effects of dropped drumsticks.
*4. that's "six of one, half a dozen..." oh never mind. sweepy majestic intro, groovy drum machine pickup. super mellow nodder... with a bounce. jimmy eat world styled harmonies in for the last minute. abrupt end, or fade out.
5. trashcanny synth. the vocals are kinda unintentionally funny (emo alert). randomly reprises the vamp from track 1? wtf? could fade early, ~40 sec to end.
