Johnny Butler's debut album. It's filled with rich, post-rock style textures. There's a lot of experimental saxophone looping. The harmonies are beautifully ambient and constantly evolving. All of the tracks are in a minor key (except 3, which doesn't really have a key.) I really enjoyed 1 and 2.
RIYL: Sigur Ros, El Ten Eleven
1.* 8:13 Brooding and glacial with constantly shifting textures. It's practically all one evolving harmony. My favorite.
2. 5:14 Coltrane inspired saxophone solos over a rhythmic beat of looped notes. Melancholic
3. 5:02 Are those duck sounds? The title: "Glitch" probably explains it all. Squeaks and random wild notes are interspersed everywhere. The opposite of the other, more harmonic tracks
4. 5:22 A ballad version of the opener. Technically and stylistically, they're pretty similar though this track is slightly less harmonic and includes some extra guitar-like saxophone. It's a meant as a lament for those who died in Iraq.
