Matt Davignon – Living things
Reviwed by Enzo 3/31/10
Matt Davignon is an abstract/experimental musician based in Oakland, who has been working exclusively with processed sounds of drum machines for several years. However, his sounds are very organic and diminutive which express a sense of mystery and wonder.
1) Noise/static morphed, bass line in 3:00, sense of wonder. 2) Fuzzy melodic drone. 3) Dripping water in a sub-tunnel sound like. 4) Background sound of tabla percussion and mandolin. 5) Reduced tremulous sfx. 6) Sounded like strange creatures singing. 7) Strange percussive pattern. 8) Fast tremulous chord sample. 9) Flies performing at an orchestra soundlike.
