The iconic Celtic group celebrates 25 years together with classic tunes (both original and traditional). Some instrumentals and some vocals featuring the gorgeous voice of fiddler Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh. Unexpectedly, this release also includes a concert orchestra so in the middle of the five members of Altan jamming, you’ll suddenly get full symphony.
1. Upbeat set of two reels. Instrumentals w/orchestra. Toe-tapping.
*2. Lovely vocal ballad. Slow, sad, crystal-clear vocals.
*3. Mid/up instrumental that grows in sound as orchestra joins in.
4. Warm and fragile love song. Full of nostalgia and longing.
*5. Midtempo and dramatic w/full arrangement & vocals. Picks up.
*6. Great vocals a gorgeous ballad w/lush strings.
7. Set of traditional instrumental reels. Played w/energy & style.
8. Relaxed original tune w/warm strings and nice emotionalism.
*9. Midtempo w/nice vocal arrangement and use of orchestra.
10. Slow and rich w/a a dramatic air.
*11. Traditional ballad given an orchestral touch. So sad.
12. Orchestral instrumental, mostly slow and full of cinematic drama.
13. Mid/downtempo w/vocals and layers of strings.
*14. Two instrumental dances a midtempo jig then upbeat reel.
