Black Rebel Motorcyle Club/Beat the Devil’s Tattoo
Awesome, grimy and grungy rock music. Conjures the image of dirty, tattooed long-haired rockers on the road. A band that has been around for over 10 years and are clearly still putting out great albums. I’m putting this one into heavy iPod rotation. Awesome album art. Sounds like: The Dandy Warhols, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Bravery, The Killers’ Sawdust. FCC Free.
Try: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12
1. Plodding, heavy, darkly charged.
2. Grimy punk jam.
3. Subdued, winding & layered torch song.
4. Screeching, grunge guitar, grimy & sexy.
5. Campfire song, melancholy & moody.
6. Mellow, layered, smoky, angsty.
7. Muted yet up-tempo, catchy rock song.
8. Bluesy, whisky dripping, snarly.
*9.* Folk sound, more acoustic & country with female vocal backing.
*10.* Ominous, heavy, sexually charged.
11. Solid rock song with taunting lyrics, anguish.
12. Slow, lower tempo, cool, bottom of the barrel vibe.
13. Distorted, reverb, washed-up anthem.
