This is a 4-song EP by Seattle-based pop/DIY/garage-punk group Watch It Sparkle. Catchy, short tunes. Simple, fun lyrics; melodies will bring you into B-52/Cramps nostalgia. The sensibility is upbeat, fun. The first two songs are poppy, the last two are more... “raw”.
All songs are great, loved #1 and 3.
1.** 2:16 catchy and danceable, repetitive in all the right ways. distorted male vox. frantic keys and guitar. you can picture the singer running all over the stage, wearing a mad scientist wig.
2.* 2:14 a curious melange of g-funk/casio/nintendo synth, rockin’ guitar, drums and tambourines. driving and dance-able. male vox are less distorted than #1, and he likes to go “wooooo” a lot. I guess he’s having a good time.
3.** 2:29 more guitar-based, somewhat Cramps/psychobilly influenced. distorted, screaming male vox. time to do the twist!!
4.* 1:54 most uptempo/rockin’ on the EP. heavy guitars, drums, cymbals. heavily distorted male vox.
