for fans of BEST coast, splinters, dum dum girls, donnas.
the brills kill! very catchy, fun.
(an aside(to prove nobody really reads these reviews):
who do you think is cutest? i like L . she looks like she'd tear ya' apart; E is cute, a look that says 'spank me!' but a little too jailbaity. (of the 5 male station members i polled: L wins(3); E gets 1 (chimo); one guy got all neuro with the question, refused to answer, started hyperventilating, then chose K (weirdo). )
FCC CLEAN.
SUGGESTIONS: 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 12
*1. BEST TRACK: just a little killer!
*2. sounds like they could be a rival group goin' 'gainst the monkees. i can allready see the montage of them chasing each other around the loft. IT'S CUTE.
3. reminds me of that tracy ullman tune. i knda hate it because of that alone. but...
4. allright!: sounds like a carnival opening.
*5. this is drear/slow to go, as opposed to the previous tunes. belly/breeders vibe w/killin' brills.
6. back to uptemp!
*7. metallish git? (w/devo synths.) like 70's femme de' punk: liliput/kleenex, slits, x-rey spex.
*8.ALMOST ALMOST BEST TRACK: this is really fun and dancy. reminds me of blondie.
9. gettin' movin! glammy.
10. maudlin fun. heartbreak, blah blah blahg..
11. punky poppy stuff. sweet=kim deal falls in love?
*12. ALMOST BEST TRACK: aww....and now little kitties get sung to sleep...okey, maybe not. but it's pretty cloying isn't it?
