Ami Saraiya: Archaeologist. Folksy, catchy, old-timey feel. A throwback to the days of bars featuring “Big Bands,” except this is a one-woman show. FCC on track 7. Try 2, 6, 10.
1) Glockenspiel and strumming bass.
2) Strikingly emotional vocals, and head-nodding drums.
3) The title track features swooning vocals and a slow-moving melody.
4) Methodical melody twists in this strings-heavy song.
5) Gypsy-sounding accordion instrumentals, gaining in frenzy over time.
6) Soulful, almost blues-y. Quite intense towards the end.
7) FCC Calm, almost country-sounding guitar and piano.
8) Foreign language, quite gypsy-sounding.
9) A mournful ballad, with quivering violins.
10) A lyrical, deliberate piece. Beware, the final 30 seconds is silence.
11) Ami layers her own vocals, with acoustic guitar.
