Unicycle Loves You: Mirror, Mirror: Less hard and more synth-y than the Strokes, less grandiose than Arcade Fire, but somewhat evocative of both. A few weird experimental/noise tracks thrown in the mix, but the tracks with vocals are pretty enjoyable! FCC clean. Try 11, 5, 10.
1) Synth-dominated quickie instrumental track. 2) The title of this track makes reference to an extinct zebra species—awesome! Light synths, heavy guitars. 3) Cool intro riff, more cliché melody for the verses, though. 4) Rockin’ raw guitars, pounding drumbeats. 5) Intriguing guitar riff, powerful instrumental ending. 6) Beach Boys-like guitar along with a chorus of distant voices. 7) Almost hectic-sounding, fast-paced rock sound. 8) Female vocals, tambourine, layers of guitars. 9) Anxious-sounding instrumental track. 10) Quick synths, crooning vocals.
11) A track of open wide, enveloping, upbeat sound. 12) MGMT-like sound effects. 13) Happy-skippy first half, with an evil twin ominous second half. 14) Guitar picking, synths, and distant/indecipherable voices.
