Post rockish indie rock/pop that’s really interesting creative and different from most things that those adjectives are applied to. Almost a super-group, composed of folks from other popular bands. Female vocals that slide into key remind me of I Am the World Trade Center or Camera Obscura somehow. Music has a heavy dose of Wurlitzer pop organ with elements of tape noise, samples. Complexity increases on side B. What American Outfitters would play on their muzak if they had even one tiny brain cell. “Cosign is digitally servicing this album but your station is one of only a handful across the country to receive an LP for airplay!”. Keep playing vinyl people, including the “indie rock militia”.
A1) bouncy almost straight cute pop but twisted oh so slightly so as to make it really great, creative while pretty A2) upbeat while slightly minor, cool melodies and slightly off-key singing reminds me of I Am The World Trade Center or Camera Obscura A3) somewhat A4) a 70’s prog jazzish intro with trombones and keys and urgent snazzy drums, kicks down a gear and becomes a slighty A5) swingy jazzy or something, how to describe… sexy?
B1-2) pushing the post rock, multi faceted, meter changes, cool B3) upbeat B4) theres a certain dubby or Stewart Copeland element to the drumming that comes through here a lot, with the snare, cymbal shots and disjunct rhythm B5) more complexity but accessible, pretty and interesting stuff
