SURF CITY -- "KUDOS"
Loud surfer rock. Varied tempo, intensity.
Personal Faves: 9, 3, 5, 11, 6, 8, 1 -- Sunshine January 2011
1) Crazy Rulers Of The World -- Surfer rock with great guitar.
2) See How The Sun -- Almost a choo-choo train sound, then chugging guitar. Neil Young-ish lyrics and vocals. Rather repetitive in melody.
* 3) Kudos -- Title track. Cool guitar. More vocal quality than earlier.
4) Icy Lakes -- Almost sound effects at start. Then monotonous bassline.
* 5) Teachers -- Better, more interesting rhythm than others.
* 6) Yakuza Park -- Sounds like caliope. Then rocking guitar pops up.
7) Retro -- Strumming chords . . . basic drums.
* 8) In Times Of Approach -- Rapid-fire drumming, guitar. Cool sounds.
* 9) Autumn -- Cymbals, synth sounds . . . drumsticks. Cool! My favorite.
10) CIA -- Punky rockish.
* 11) Zombies -- Quiet start! Swirly. Cool ethereal. Then drum, guitar rock. Mid-tempo. Almost like bagpipes.
