Mali meets Cuba in this release that brings superstars from both countries together. Representing Team Cuba: Eliades Ochoa (from the Buena Vista Social Club), from Mali: Toumani Diabate. Plus about a half dozen others. Koras and guitars. Hip multi-cultural percussion. Delicious, jazzy, warm, great stuff. Some songs obviously more Cuban. Others equally more African. Great musical mash-up. 1. Relaxed midtempo instrumental blend of two cultures. *2. Soaring vocals in a relaxed and sensual guajira. *3. Mid/upbeat and delicious w/wonderful vocals & guitars. *4. Bright and swaying upbeat wiggle. Extra goodness. 5. Midtempo, relaxed, soaring vocals and tight strings. *6. Mid/upbeat Malian vocals w/a tight arrangment. 7. Gentle guitar solo. Sweet & much too short. *8. Upbeat and busy w/great blend of perc & strings. Yum! *9. Sweet & playful mid/upbeat jam w/hip perc & warm vox. 10. Soaring vocals, warm strings.
