The press release mentioned the Strokes, but nobody told Five O’clock Heroes about that. This is pretty straightforward indie rock with some solid bass/drum interplay and vocals that you may fall in love with at first listen or despise passionately. Think an even more British version of The Clash on a sunny day.
FCC: Clean
Try: 6, 3, 8

1) 5:24 Long acoustic guitar opening, transitions to laid back guitar rock with retro vocals and a few keys for kicks.
2) 4:38 Tight bass/drum/guitar groove. Warm, sunny and sorrowless
3) 3:38 * Acoustic guitar and bass foundation. Very layered, nice harmonies in the chorus.
4) 3:15 Very strange dark piano rock. Guitar work sounds very 80s. Simple and groovy piano/keys riff.
5) 3:14 Sounds like the reggae-heavy side of the clash. Falsetto backing vocals and lyrics about being “way down in Londontown”
6) 4:12 * Strange opening with steel guitar and “I don’t need to go out” The track itself is somewhat Bowie, too. Blissful upbeat pop
7) 3:24 Sweet acoustic ballad with rhodes keys in the background
8) 3:20 * Classic jangly indie rock. There’s a guitar solo, too
9) 2:42 Pretty straight forward, but the sax solo is a bit of a curveball
10) 3:18 Stomping indie rock, upbeat and jangly
