WOW! This reviewer has been left speechless. This is one of the most ambitious compilations I have ever come across: 99 tracks on one CD (100 actually, but since CDs don't allow for that, the last two have been combined) lasting a brief 43 minutes. Mortville Noise brings us the absolute best of the noisiest, obscurest corners of the worldwide grind/noisecore underground. This collection is a nonstop, disorienting blast of noise, blastbeats, screams, growls, and general filthy anti-music tomfoolery, encapsulating the perverse beauty of basement/bedroom/garage noise madness and juxtaposing it with top-notch no-frills grindcore. If you're into this sort of thing, you will find yourself digging almost every track. The sound ranges from harsh yet audible grindcore (Agathocles, Mesrine) to unintelligible, absolute extremities of noisecore (Earwigs, Cacasonica) including some baffling weirdness. Obviously, none of the songs clock in at over 50 seconds. Fantastic, awe-inspiring stuff for the true sick fans of noize! The collection is truly worldwide, ranging from the US, Indonesia, Japan, Ecuador, Finland, and fuck knows where else.

Of special consideration here are tracks from noisecore staples Gorgonized Dorks, Earwigs, Nihilist Commando, and CSMD, as well as grindcore giants Agathocles and Parlamentarisk Sodomi. Also of note are oddball obscurities such as Penis Geyser, Mutwawa, and Facialmess, as well as grindcore underdogs Dispepsiaa, Hard Charger and The Oily Menace. I really encourage anyone whose curiosity knows no bounds to explore this on their own and find their own favorites.
