1971 Finnish flute centered jazz, prog-rock, acoustic’isms. Loiri has become a “pillar” of Finnish culture, a comedian, poet, and actor. I’ve included the objective one-sheet below for more info: See Inside (and the insert has a thorough run-down). Much of this has a pleasing if silly dated “70’s” feel about it, campfire acoustic qualities, but in places its smoking jazz and has cool experimental tones with found sounds and tape speed manipulations. Yet another fantastic CD from the people at Porter Records.

1) foghorn/surf sounds to start, chill campfire acoustic song
2) upbeat becomes more intense, electric guitar appears
3) waltzing classical folksy chamber feel guit flute duo at first, then marching drums w/ melodic male choral voices and brass, takes on a pub/drinking song w/ laughter, found sounds
4) starts folksy w/flute then after 2 min a serious tenor sax jazz quartet walking piece, transforms back again to a galloping acoustic, bongos and flutes
5) field sounds/parakeets, full on acoustic upbeat jam that a Peruvian pan flute tone
6) freaky silly upbeat swingy w/ Chipmunks tape speed manip vocs in Finnish
7) has that super hip upbeat 70’s feel, hooky melody
8) briefer percussion/bass heavy, cool
9) cheesy feel w/ Finnish vocs, weird and cool
10) upbeat bongo’y and classy
