Shane Murphy’s voice is a high-register tenor with a bit of Gaelic accent (though from upper NY state). Think Tim Buckley crossed with the Clancy Brothers. The music ranges from simple singer-with-guitar folksongs, to more complex arrangements, to folk rock. All songs by Murphy save #8.

No FCC issues.

1. Slow folk song with allusions to Greek myth. Very simple accompaniment. (1:33)
2. Dude sounds a bit like Alison Moyet here. ☺ Urgent, driving accompaniment. (2:47)
3. *** A proposal to spend a simple life together. Very good singing & playing. (3:12)
4. * Love song in a madrigal form. Many historical & symbolic allusions. Acoustic. (6:31)
5. High and lonesome. Forlorn cry caused by someone’s absence in the Spring. (3:08)
6. Sings in a lower register, not his best. Guitar squeeks annoyingly. Too much bass. (2:16)
7. * Faster tempo. Powerful song. Nautical references. Mixed acoustic/elec backing. (4:05)
8. ** Pretty ballad. (by Pearls Before Swine in late 60s.) Two guitars, two voices. (3:32)
9. *** Faster & louder than most others, with bigger band. More folk rock than folk. (3:57)
10. *** Up-tempo but quite melancholy. Good acoustic guitar, elegant bass, hints of electric. Interesting symbolism and similes in the lyric. Good song. (3:31)
11. ** Early morning love song. Very simple, very traditional folk. Quite nice. (1:51)
12. Electric guitar gives it an edge. Harsh, sad lyric. Uncomfortable. (4:59)
13. *** Slow. About aging & dying. Acoustic accompaniment is excellent. (3:29)
14. Slow & sad, but electric. Again about dying. Latin title is a Biblical allusion. (2:27)
