Brown Recluse is a “twee-inspired” band out of Philadelphia. Their brand of indie pop music feels vaguely reminiscent, though I can’t place it exactly. Kind of the world-weary sweetness in the singer’s voice, the simple song structures, the tamborine and keys. Play it if you like that sort of thing. I recommend tracks 3 and 9. No FCC’s.

1. indie dirge (2:36)
2. upbeat tambourine jangle. Some Belle & Sebastian feel? (2:02)
3. *synth-driven midtempo waltzy feel. Hint of 1950s (3:18)
4. Echoey tambourine 60s. (2:28)
5. Hazy, lazy voice. Feels warm and a little sad. (2:56)
6. Short instrumental track. (1:03)
7. Slightly uptempo song about a twilight ramble. (3:29)
8. Pretty similar to the other songs, but with a occasionally surfy guitar feel (2:09)
9. *Horn intro. I like the melody. (3:26)
10. Slow tempo, organ-dominated. Gets happy after a minute, gets sad again. (2:38)
11. Acoustic guitar intro, before kicking into the sugary voiced, key-driven midtempo that characterizes most of the album (5:00)
