The Malian superstar Griot kora player gathers musicians on ngoni, acoustic bass, balafon, calabash, and djembe. All instrumentals. In the Malian Griot tradition but with a modern flair, most composed and arranged by Diabate. Every track is a standout. 1. Relaxed and sweet w/some fast strings that hypnotize. 2. Bouncy and joyful ode to home. Nice layers of strings/perc. 3. Sweet midtempo love song w/a gentle air and sense of warmth. 4. Softly tripping kora in this midtempo blend of joy & sadness. 5. Lazy but bright, a nice showcase for the kora. 6. Solo kora, warm & slow then melodic. A wonderful journey. 7. Stars w/bouncy balafon, wonderful mid/up interplays w/strings. 8. Kora flows into relaxed and dreamy reflection. 9. Sweet & relaxed w/great work from the band. Tight arrangement. 10. Nicely played strings bounce and flow in this mid/uptempo song. 11.
