Chris Cotton, Bay Area native, culls a plethora of great string players on this Americana-infused 10” vinyl EP. Jazzy, folksy, country, blues, it’s quite timeless, almost a throwback to roots music, yet quite present-day. Songs about relationships, both hopeful and troublesome. Polished production, great sounds emanating from the grooves. No FCC’s.

*My Favorites*: 2, 3, 4, 6.

1. Slow / Mid. Strings, plodding guitar. Lushful instrumentation, quiet vocal delivery. Very folksy, jazzy.
2. *Slow / Mid. Country flair. Beautiful female backing vocals. Great for a drive on the backroads or anywhere, really. Song about a lost relationship.
3. *Slow. Slow, sparse march of acoustic guitar, bass, hand claps. Gets kind of carnivalistic toward end. Great stuff.
4. *Mid. Big drums, driving guitar work, a fun song. Female backing vocals. Bluesy and blissful.
5. Slow / Mid. Ominous strings to start. Song about the speaker realizing the relationship is slipping. Guitar and strings predominate.
6. *Mid. Voice and guitar intro. Has a Nick Drake feel. Really nice guitar work, understated blues / folk.
