COLIN VALLON TRIO: Rruga ECM, 2011 MODERN JAZZ – This deep Swiss trio is all about melody and feeling rather than solo acrobatics. Their tunes are compact, intimate, intricate and beautiful, growing from simple beginnings to firm declarations or deep introspection. Other bands might need 15 minutes to develop these tunes, but Vallon goes straight to the heart. Very fine music. Colin Vallon : piano Patrice Moret : bass Samuel Rohrer : drums All good.
