PRESTER JOHN: Desire for a Straight Line Innova, 2010 ACOUSTIC – Yay! These excellent guitar/mandolin duets may have a folksy Americana sound, but the content is forward-thinking music with a jazz orientation. There are eclectic references around the edges to avant-garde composers, gypsy music, modern classical, etc. It’s brainy music you can dance to, served in appealing, bite-sized morsels. All really good.
