Fictitious spaghetti western soundtrack. Lovechild of producer Danger Mouse and composer Daniele Luppi. Really darn good! Think Ennio Morricone with a modern twist. Reverberation on vocals, bell lines, and an overall moody film atmosphere. Instrumental tracks serve to tie the album together, give continuity. Features Jack White and Norah Jones. Play ALL of it, esp 4,7,13. FCC Clean
1. 2:21, Instrumental, guitar strumming opens track, rising female vocals, orchestration with subdued syncopated backbeat.
2. 3:22, Moody blues, with Jack White’s unmistakably dramatic double tracked vocals, haunting keyboard line, background bells and haunting chorus.
3. 0.38, Keyboard opener for 4. Play together.
†4. 3:11, Midtempo. Glorious reflective soul, awesome bass line, subdued strings, Jones’ voice is perfection. PLAY THIS.
5. 0.57, Instrumental and choral interlude for 6. Play together.
6. 3.13, Downtempo instrumental, very grandly orchestral with a gentle strumming guitar and moody bass. Cooing female vocals towards end.
†7. 2:21, Central bass line and hand percussions. Dramatic, apprehensive, incredible delivery by White. Monologuish.
8. 2:03, Instrumental. Midtempo, orchestral with ominous bells, slick guitar riff.
9. 1:02, Instrumental and choral interlude to 9. Play together.
10. 3:24, Midtempo moody dusty blues. Bell line parallels vocals. Strings build.
11. 1:46. Instrumental. Sounds like a scene on horses. Orchestrations builds and falls away. Excellent mixing. Ominous chorus, incessant (maybe) moog line.
12. 2:05. Instrumental, twinkling bells, groovy bass line, reverb and perfect movie atmosphere.
†13. 2:36. Apprehensive opening keyboard line, relaxes with Jones’ vocals, then builds the pressure again…amazing building and falling away of orchestration. Retro synth line, like out of a music box. Ends abruptly.
14. 2:31 Instrumental, bells and orchestra swell together. Calm. Ties into 15.
15. 3.28. “Film” dénouement: blues guitar plucking, White’s strong, double tracked vocals, marching band drums, chorus and synth line fuse to fall away.
