Nanette Natal has been a well regarded, if not well-known, jazz vocalist since the 70s. Here she turns singer-songwriter for some country/folk/blues Americana (with one classic jazz number thrown in). All songs except #7 written by Natal.

No FCC issues.

1 Slow, folky ballad. Pretty, if a bit long. Countryish electric guitar solo is nice. (7:17)
2 Slow & melancholy, with a political message. A fiddle is featured instrument. (4:22)
3 * Mid-tempo, mellow & bluesy. Smoky vox. Backed by rhythm guitar & bongos. (4:17)
4 ** Slow, folky ballad. Better than #1. Gorgeous low vocal, nice acoustic guitar. (5:52)
5 Mid-slow blues-folk mix. “Hard times in America” theme. (4:14)
6 * Slow sassy blues vocal. Acoustic guitar and bass. Country-ish fiddle. (6:35)
7 ** Gershwin’s “I Got Rhythm” is the jazz standard for all time. Natal does it as supersonic bebop. Features a couple scat-singing breaks and good electric guitar. (4:59)
