Jangly lo-fi indie rock with lots of foundsound samples and clever percussive elements. Messy and super-creative stuff from Seattle, Washington that reminds us that music is supposed to be fun. The first half of the slab is more “jungly” and the second has more “beachy” sounds. Great off-the-wall stuff. FCC CLEAN
WARNING: THIS LP PLAYS AT 45 SPEED!!!
RIYL: Sung Tongs era Animal Collective, Shugo Tokumaru, Monster Rally, Olivia Tremor Control
*1. Slightly off-key vocals searching for vocal harmony. Cool xylophone and strummy guitar. Wall-of-sound style drums, shakers, and woodsticks. More instruments than I care to count.
2. Jungle sound effects, a slow-building acoustic ballad. Washed out vocals and sparse chimes.
*3. Jivey, and folky with nice driving rhythms. Classic PNW charm.
4. Loud and fast-paced. Cool guitar delay pedal and rootsy vibes. Fun lighthearted vocals.
*5. Nice vocals, excellent guitar effects and a loony, spastic flute.
*6. Lo-fi pop with chimes and rapid xylophone…a very surfy feel. A crazy fade out with field recordings taken at a grocery store. Rad.
7. Slow wandering. Minimal with echoed vocals. Gradually builds into a tropical explosion of washed-out guitars and clanging percussion.
8. Slow, introspective with waves crashing in the background.
