Split 7” release with one side from Femminieli (Formerly Bernardino Femminieli) and the flip from Araignée, which is really just the name of a collaboration project of Femminieli and his buddy Dominic Vanchesteing. (Who happens to be a Grammy nominated Montreal producer, and the founder of Plaza Musique). A huge departure from Femminieli’s earlier dreamy sonic landscapes, this record finds him grounded in 80’s synth, dark pop, and krauty electro. Nevertheless, he still shines and is able to effortlessly hold his own in a foreign genre. So show them some love.

RIYL: Goblin, Cosmetics, Terror Bird, Yoshimi-era Flaming Lips

A: Dark synth pop—a nice nod to the Duran Duran song of the same name. Slow 808 drum machine, Haunted House minor chords, slowly spoken Spanish lyrics.

B: Emotional ballad with gentle synth, subtly resonating piano and pained lyrics all over a pleasant bed of moving strings. Excellent. Collapses into a nice droney outro with a mashup of vocal samples and feedback.
