Longtime session man with many big name musicians spanning many genres, MuCuller has several solo albums as well, and this release is a soulful and funky blues album. Half covers, half originals, McCuller shines on vocals throughout. This album was largely financed by social media website, Pledge Music, with a large share by Lyle Lovett. It’s got a polished production and some fine playing. No FCC’s.

1. *(4:35) Slow. Title track, soulful with great organ and guitar.
2. *(4:37) Mid. Funky with slide guitar, organ, backing vocals, really nice.
3. (4:20) Slow / Mid. Jazzy blues story-song with keys, backing vocals, guitar, plodding beat.
4. *(2:49) Mid. Julie and Buddy Miller song. Really funky, upbeat, catchy blues burner. Wailing organ, guitar with backing vocals.
5. (4:12) Slow / Mid. Plodding beat, reminiscent of a ’50’s r&b tune. Nice, sparse guitar solo. Abrupt ending.
6. (4:17) Slow. John Hiatt song. Soulful, quiet ballad. Organ lends a really light, airy touch.
7. *(4:29) Mid. Berry Gordy, Jr. song, notably done by Jackie Wilson. Laid back, mellow groover. Backing vocals, drums upfront.
8. (4:27) Slow. Classic number with sparse with piano, stretched out vocals, slow drum beat.
9. *(4:51) Slow / Mid. J.B. Lenoir song. Swirling organ, cool guitar, great vocals.
