BILL FRISELL: All We Are Saying…
Savoy Jazz, 2011
COUNTRY/JAZZ/ROCK – Guitar master Frisell brings his jazz-Americana sound to the music of John Lennon, leading a fine quintet. This project started as a random one-off concert in 2005 and grew into a labor of love… definitely more than just another Beatles cover album, the tunes are played with great affection and have an underlying serenity even when the band is rocking out. Really, really nice work.
Bill Frisell, Greg Leisz : guitars
Jenny Scheinman : violin
Tony Scherr : bass
Kenny Wollesen : drums
Fo’s Picks: 1, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14
1. 5:53 – calm, warm, atmospheric
2. 3:50 – rocking honky-tonk swirl

6. 5:08 – laid-back and really sweet
