After the success of their LP Sports, San Francisco-based Weekend is back with a nice EP of dreamy noise-pop. Nice melodic vocals with thudding drums and cool resonating lo-fi guitars.

RIYL: The Jesus and Mary Chain, the Cure, Deerhunter

1. Slow, muddy. Groaning guitars, deep drums, and sluggish extended vocals.
*2. Upbeat, great percussion and nice layering of male vocals and washed-out guitars. This one will draw a lot of Cure comparisons for sure.
*3. Sparse straight-faced vocals over thick swaths of fuzzed-out guitars and thumping drums.
*4. I get three notes into this song and immediately think Joy Division. The driving basslines, percussion and guitars will sound familiar, but the vocals are more muffled and echoed. It still sounds great though.
5. Slow and murky—a bit of a downer, but with some nice emotional elements. Picks up a bit at the end with a great instrumental jam a la Deerhunter.
