The sophomore E.P. of Auckland trio Popstrangers, Happy Accidents is catchy (although occasionally cacophonous) driving noise rock. No FCCs detected. Think The Cult, Stars. Recommended: 1, 5.
1*. 4:35: Hard, driving drums, really amazing classic rock-esque guitar hook. Sometimes gets a little cacophonous.
2. 2:33: Melodic vocals which are almost drowned out under heavy guitars and percussion.
3. 3:56: Initial guitar is intense and evokes a scary mood. Anguished, emotive vocals.
4. 3:29: Scratchy guitar and echoing vocals, which sometimes turn to screaming.
5*. 4:57: Instrumental ~20 second intro. More emphasis on vocals than in their other songs, which are pretty and almost haunting. Long (~17 second) fadeout.
