A troubadour since the mid ’60’s, Geremia has only been paid by playing music from town to town throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. He’s mainly a solo artist with just his voice, guitar, mandolin and harmonica. Most songs are covers and have great descriptions by Geremia in the cd booklet. Most of these songs are recorded live and have a couple seconds of applause at the very end of the songs. Great stuff throughout, every song worth a play. No FCC’s.

*My Favorites*: 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 18, 19.

1. *(2:45) Mid / Fast. Traditional classic. Upbeat. Kick-ass, rollicking guitar, nice harmonica.
2. *(2:32) Mid. Blind Lemon Jefferson song. Upbeat, get-up-and-groove interpretation. Driving guitar with great flourishes.
3. (2:57) Fast. Quick-picking. Matter-of-fact, fun song.
4. (2:56) Mid. Charlie Patton song. Geremia approximates the Patton style fairly well here. Good stuff.
5. *(4:43) Mid. Geremia plays guitar and harmonica here. Galloping ride. Cool high-register vocal in parts. Nice playing.
6. (4:21) Mid. Reverend Gary Davis song. Deep and dark number. Very effective
7. (0:21) Intro to next song, best played with it.
8. *(2:52) Mid / Fast. Leadbelly song, written for Blind Lemon. Upbeat, propelling tune. Intricate guitar parts, which Geremia pretty much pulls off.
9. (3:59) Mid. Geremia original. Song about cocaine. Elicits some older cocaine songs. Intricate guitar playing with cool harmonica.
10. *(5:06) Mid. Sleepy John Estes tune. Great jaunty mandolin.
11. (1:54) Mid. Blind Willie McTell song. Upbeat, despite the lyrics.
12. *(4:15) Mid / Fast. King Oliver song. Harmonica driven, upbeat bluesy jazz, with killer bass.
13. *(4:16) Mid. Geremia original written after his divorce, with guitar and harmonica. Very heartfelt.
14. (0:15) Intro to next song.
15. *(3:06) Mid. Song by Gus Cannon, who was a jug and banjo player, in 1930. Geremia retains that jug feel with his guitar. Stomping and strong.
16. (3:17) Mid. Ramblin’ Thomas song written in 1928. Upbeat guitar, has that ‘ramblin’ feel.
17. (0:20) Intro to next song.
18. *(2:53) Mid. Geremia original. Harmonica predominates with guitar in the background. Cool lyrics. Good stuff.
19. *(3:25) Mid. Another Blind Willie McTell number. Some nice slide work.
20. (3:13) Mid. Traditional, most notably done by John Lee Hooker. Geremia’s version here is close to that of Hooker’s, with some nice alterations of funkier, quieter passages.
21. *(3:37) Mid. Geremia original. Upbeat, driving guitar number. Copl strum on the strings up on the head of the guitar.
