A great album from this Florida-based quintet. It’s their 3rd release and has country / folk / blues / Americana stylings. For fans of Uncle Tupelo, Old ’97’s, Tom Petty, Wilco, Dylan, etc. Instrumentation of guitar, standup bass, harmonica, drums, banjo, mandolin, violin. Some really well-penned lyrics. All songs are worth a play. No FCC’s.
*My Favorites*: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11.
1. *(3:45) Mid. Western movie / folk stylings. Acoustic guitar, banjo, percussion, bass with harmonizing and whistling.
2. *(3:08) Fast. Blazingly quick with wailing harmonica, pounding drums, screaming guitar. Country-punk. Kick ass.
3. (3:40) Slow / Mid. Guitar, vocal intro. Easy-going lope, plodding beat.
4. *(3:18) Mid. Cool guitar, drums, harmonica. NIce slow-down phrase, then gets back to rolling right along with harmonica lead.
5. *(3:30) Slow / Mid. Shakers, guitar vocal intro. Great vocal delivery. Easy-going and beautiful.
6. *(2:37) Mid / Fast. Really upbeat with a country feel. Song about the misfortunes of traveling. Killer.
7. (1:30) Slow. INSTRUMENTAL. Shaker, guitar, bass, brushes on drums, harmonica and in indeterminable sound. Cool.
8. (2:13) Mid. Upbeat guitar and loud vocal. Violin, bass, drums, handclaps.
9. *(5:04) Slow / Mid. Mellow guitar, pedal steel, then gets fuller with drums. Song about the struggles of addiction. Well done.
10. *(4:17) Fast. Dylan / Petty channeling. Harmonica, drums, guitar driver. Killer. Just Killer.
11. *(2:33) Slow. Stripped down folk / country tune. Really nice.
12. (3:52) Slow / Mid. Guitar, drums, vocal. Easy paced and nice.
