SÃO PAULO UNDERGROUND: Três Cabeças Loucuras Cuneiform, 2011 AVANT WORLD-JAZZ – Jeez, Chicago cornetist Rob Mazurek has been recording like crazy lately, and every record has been excellent. Here he is in Brazil again for an electro-acoustic set with a unique and exciting sound. Guitars and electronics, video-game bleeps and weird improv, sweet melody and harsh noise all get mashed together in eight compact tracks. Really good stuff, very unusual. Check it out.
