French/Moroccan swinging solo songstress. Blues/Folk/Jazz with a smoky
parisian cafe feel. Music can leave the voice behind, when it comes to
lasting charm. No FCCs detected aside from “ass” on track 8.
Oursoul: funky low-res singing in a foreign language
Set Me Free: more folky, handclaps/guitar. Makes me think of Tom
Waits’ “Way down in the Hole.”
Kiss and Thrills: dissonant. Nice instrumentals, not feeling the
vocals. A bit naughty but no FCCS detected as such.
At the Same Time: old-timey songstress, reminds me a bit of Jolie
Holland/Po’ Girl
Imik Si Mik: mid-temp, more of the jazzy multilingual styling
Stand Up: FCC “ass” More mainstream sound
Music: others have liked the element of rap, certainly a nice
variation from other songs on album
Don’t Forget: Folk-y, choral-ish effects
Old Friends: low-tempo, kind of ambient sounding
The Man I love: torchsong, more or less
