This has to be a soundtrack, though there is no evidence that it is: Tracks are mostly chamber orchestral cinematic somber dark dark pieces (performed by the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra) as well as things that range from a simple singer/songwriter feel to dark psyche trippiness. While Ryder-Jones composed the music the CD is a compilation of bands and artists. Fans of Swans, Angels of Light, Dead Can Dance, all things 4AD. Very interesting and high end, if dark and morose overall. Bravo.

1) (3:42) somber strings and piano, very cinematic – picks up the drama midway
2) (3:45) more sparse, dramatic
3) (4:04) even more sparse, primarily piano only, vocals appear about midway, minimal is submerged
4) (3:28) huge change of gear: big dark hollow spooky balmy plod
5) (4:31) solo guitar/vocals, folkie indie simple tun
6) (6:13) starts off as a dreamy song and ends in an almost 60’s psyche acid rock jam, really cool
7) (4:22) going back to the chamber orchestral stuff, high drama
8) (5:11) more somber piano stuff
9) (3:34) piano and strings with vocals, sing songwriter, darkness fills out to be more uplifting in end
10) (6:01) starts cinematic, evolves to a joyful later-Swans’ish strummy thing
